SpanTable DefinitionRelease historyThis feature was introduced by Spans Table dashboard widget on July 24, 2026.
Use a Spans Table panel to show individual spans alongside your dashboard charts. Click a row to open that span in the Trace Explorer with the panel's filters and columns carried over.
Kind: SpanTable
Configure the table
When adding a panel, select the Spans Table visualization. In its query editor, set span filters and choose the columns to display. You can add span or resource attributes as columns, reorder columns, and show inline attribute previews. Use variable bindings to scope the table with dashboard selections.
In the panel settings, choose the sort field and direction and set the maximum number of spans to retrieve, from 1 to 1,000. Save the panel and dashboard to keep the configuration. For example, filter on service.name to list one service's spans and add http.response.status_code as a column to compare responses without leaving the dashboard.
