Set Up Linear Integration
Connect Dash0 to your Linear workspace to enable Agent0 to look up issues, reference projects, and understand team structures during investigations. The integration also enables triggering Agent0 from Linear by mentioning @Dash0.
To create a Linear integration, navigate to Settings → Integrations, click + Add, and select Linear from the integration type list.
Prerequisites
Before setting up the Linear integration:
- Linear workspace with appropriate permissions
- Organization administrator role in Dash0
- Linear account with access to the target workspace
Setup
Connect Dash0 to your Linear workspace through a simple OAuth authorization flow that grants permission to read issues and post comments.
Configuration Steps
- Navigate to Settings → Integrations.
- Click + Add and select Linear.
- Click Connect to Linear to begin OAuth authorization.
- A popup window opens for Linear authentication.
- Sign in to your Linear account.
- Select the Linear workspace to connect.
- Review the requested permissions (read issues, create comments).
- Click Authorize to grant Dash0 access.
- The popup closes automatically upon successful authorization.
- The integration appears in your integrations list as "Connected".
Configuration
Configure OAuth permissions and understand what Agent0 can access in your Linear workspace.
OAuth Permissions
Dash0 requests the following Linear permissions for Agent0:
- Read Issues: View issue details, status, and metadata.
- Read Teams: Access team and project information for context.
- Read Projects: View project information and organization.
- Create Comments: Post investigation results back to Linear threads (when @Dash0 is mentioned).
Agent0 uses read-only access for Chat and Automations. It can only create comments when explicitly mentioned (@Dash0) in Linear issues. Agent0 cannot create, modify, or delete issues.
What Agent0 Can Access
Once connected, Agent0 can:
- Look up issues by keyword, team, or project
- Read issue details including status, assignee, priority, description, and comments
- Browse teams and projects to understand work organization
- Post investigation results as comments in Linear threads (when mentioned)
Manage the Integration
View integration status, test the connection, and reauthorize OAuth access as your Linear workspace evolves.
View Integration Status
Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Linear to view:
- Connection Status: OAuth token validity and last refresh time.
- Workspace: Connected Linear workspace name.
- Recent Activity: List of recent Agent0 interactions with Linear.
Reconnecting
If the OAuth token expires or is revoked:
- The integration status shows "Error" with a reconnect prompt.
- Click Reconnect to Linear.
- Complete the OAuth flow again.
- Agent0 can immediately resume accessing Linear.
Removing the Integration
- Navigate to Settings → Integrations → Linear.
- Click Delete Integration.
- Confirm deletion.
- Agent0 can no longer access Linear issues or respond to @Dash0 mentions.
- Optionally revoke Dash0's access through Linear workspace settings.
Troubleshooting
Common issues with the Linear integration and their solutions.
Authorization Failed
- Popup Blockers: Ensure popup windows are allowed for the Dash0 domain.
- Linear Permissions: Verify your Linear account has permission to authorize applications.
- Workspace Access: Ensure you have access to the Linear workspace you're trying to connect.
Agent0 Cannot Access Issues
- Integration Status: Verify the integration shows "Connected" status in Settings → Integrations.
- OAuth Token: Check if the OAuth token has expired and needs reconnection.
- Team Permissions: Verify Agent0 has access to the Linear teams you're querying.
@Dash0 Mentions Not Working
- Integration Connected: Verify the Linear integration is connected in Settings → Integrations.
- Bot Permissions: Ensure the Dash0 bot has permission to read and comment on issues.
- Workspace Match: Verify you're mentioning @Dash0 in the correct Linear workspace.
Security
Linear integration security relies on OAuth authentication, encrypted API calls, and audit logging.
OAuth Security
- Secure Authentication: OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest.
- Automatic Refresh: Tokens are automatically refreshed before expiration.
- Revocation: Revoke access at any time through Linear workspace settings or by deleting the integration.
- Audit Trail: All Agent0 interactions with Linear are logged in Dash0 audit logs.
Data Privacy
- Read-Only Access: Agent0 reads issue data only during active investigations or when explicitly mentioned.
- No Issue Creation: Agent0 cannot create, modify status, or delete Linear issues.
- Controlled Comments: Agent0 only posts comments when explicitly mentioned (@Dash0) in Linear threads.
