The synergy between Dash0 and Lumigo is rooted in a shared technical philosophy: observability should be open, high-performance, and automated. By combining Dash0’s OpenTelemetry-native backend with Lumigo’s high-fidelity AWS instrumentation, we are bridging the gap between infrastructure metrics and deep application tracing.
The acquisition creates a unique product ecosystem where specialized serverless tracing meets a generalized, enterprise-grade data platform.
OTel-Native Data Flow: Dash0 is built from the ground up to ingest OpenTelemetry data without proprietary translation layers. Lumigo’s industry-leading tracers are being evolved to natively output OTel data, allowing you to use Lumigo's "one-click" instrumentation with Dash0’s massive-scale storage and query engine.
Agentic AI Integration: We are merging Lumigo’s Copilot (which understands the nuances of AWS Lambda and event-driven triggers) with Dash0’s Agent0. This creates an AI agent with the context of the entire stack, capable of tracing an error from a frontend user click through a Kubernetes cluster and into a nested serverless function.
Payload & Context Capture: One of Lumigo’s standout features is capturing the actual payloads of AWS services (S3, SQS, DynamoDB). Dash0’s high-performance architecture is designed to store and index this rich metadata at a lower cost, making it searchable and actionable across your entire environment.
FAQ
What's happening with Lumigo?
Dash0 has acquired the Lumigo. Lumigo platform will remain operational and will be maintained by the Lumigo team until (at least) the end of 2026. By the end of 2026, all Lumigo customers will be given the opportunity to transition to the Dash0 platform. Dash0 provides all the solutions that Lumigo offered, with enhanced capabilities, better performance, and expanded workload support.
Strategy & Vision
The acquisition combines Lumigo's deep AWS and serverless expertise with Dash0's comprehensive observability platform to create the best observability solution for AWS customers. Rather than maintaining two separate products, we're investing in a single, superior platform that serves the full spectrum of AWS workloads - from serverless to containers to traditional compute.
To be the best observability platform for AWS customers. We're combining Lumigo's serverless capabilities with Dash0's all-purpose platform, open-source foundation (OpenTelemetry, Perses), and AI-powered troubleshooting (Agent0). The result: a single platform that handles any AWS workload - serverless, containers, VMs - with the ease of Lumigo and the power of modern observability.
Timeline & Transition
We will onboard Lumigo customers to Dash0 gradually during the second half of 2026. In the first half of 2026, the team will focus on building critical Lumigo capabilities into Dash0 to ensure a smooth transition.
All Lumigo customers have to transition to Dash0 by the end of 2026. After all customers have migrated successfully, the Lumigo platform will be sunset.
There will be no downtime or service interruption of your Lumigo service during this transition.
Product & Capabilities
We will be building into Dash0 the most popular Lumigo capabilities, such as the graph view, the Lambda functions page, the easy onboarding flow, and payload capture.
Dash0 will be an improved version of Lumigo. We're combining Lumigo's serverless capabilities with Dash0's all-purpose platform to create a superior solution for AWS customers running any workload.
The Lumigo team has joined Dash0 on a mission to turn Dash0 into the best observability solution for AWS customers. Dash0 will have the capabilities you had with Lumigo, plus:
- Lower price point - You get more for less.
- Pay-as-you-go pricing plan - After your Lumigo contract ends, no commitment required, with lower costs and better cost controls.
- Additional observability products - You can now benefit from synthetic checks and website monitoring.
- Lightning-quick product - Significantly faster platform performance compared to Lumigo.
- Robust support for any workload - Beyond AWS Serverless: Kubernetes, multi-cloud environments, and more.
- Based on open source - Built on OpenTelemetry and Perses, with no vendor lock-in.
- Agent0 - The next evolution of AI observability.
We're building a solution where your current Lambda tracers will forward telemetry data directly to Dash0. This will be available before you migrate, so when you start using Dash0, you'll already have data in the platform.
We highly recommend switching to the Dash0 tracers once they're ready, as they will be optimized for a better experience. However, you can stay on the Lumigo tracers until you feel comfortable making the switch.
We are working on a clear and easy to follow migration plan. The Lumigo and Dash0 CS teams will be working closely with you to make the transition as seamless as possible.
Commercial & Licensing
Your existing Lumigo contract will not change and will be executed as agreed. You’ll have the opportunity to migrate mid-agreement to Dash0 and enjoy “Lumigo-Dash0 migration plan” benefits.
Dash0 pricing is significantly cheaper than Lumigo’s. If you migrate to Dash0 in the midst of your Lumigo subscription plan you will get Dash0 credits which will allow you to consume significantly more traces and monitored invocation than you would have in Lumigo.
You can buy and use Lumigo quotas (e.g. traces) up until the end of 2026. From 2027 onward, Dash0's unified observability platform will be the only available licensing plan.
You are able to renew your Lumigo subscription for the period between your renewal date and end of 2026. After that date Dash0 pay as you go licensing will apply.
There are several key differences:
- Monitored invocations - In Lumigo, a monitored invocation is one execution of a Lambda function monitored based on logs. In Dash0, this becomes 1 span, priced according to Dash0's span pricing.
- Logs - Lumigo charges for log volume, while Dash0 charges for number of logs.
- Traces vs spans - Lumigo charges for traces. Dash0 charges for spans. A trace contains multiple spans, but a span costs a fraction of the cost of a trace. So we expect Dash0 span pricing to dramatically reduce overall cost for Lumigo customers in most cases.
Technical & Operations
Not immediately. Your current Lumigo tracers will forward telemetry data directly to Dash0, so you can continue using them during and after the transition. We recommend switching to Dash0 tracers once they're ready for an optimized experience, but you can make this change when you're comfortable.
Yes. Customers may also continue to operate on the Lumigo platform, with the same data residency requirements and regional support that apply today. There are no changes to data location, residency commitments, or supported regions as a result of the acquisition, and these arrangements will remain in place until the end of 2026.
Customers will continue to rely on Lumigo’s existing security and compliance posture while operating on the Lumigo platform through the end of 2026.
For customers who choose to transition to Dash0 during 2026 or thereafter, Dash0 maintains a comprehensive security and compliance program aligned with leading industry standards. Detailed information, including certifications and control documentation, is available through Dash0’s Trust Center
Support & Success
Your TAM and AE will be joined by Dash0 team to best support you during the migration.
No. There are no changes to existing SLAs for customers operating on the Lumigo platform through the end of 2026.
If and when a customer chooses to transition to Dash0, applicable SLAs will be governed by Dash0’s standard terms at that time. Any changes will be communicated clearly in advance as part of the transition process.
