Bastian Krol

Bastian Krol is a Principal Software Engineer at Dash0, which he joined in January 2024. He works on the Dash0 Kubernetes Operator, the component that brings OpenTelemetry-based observability into Kubernetes clusters with minimal setup.

He has worked in the observability space since 2018. As a member of the W3C Distributed Tracing Working Group, he contributed to the W3C trace context standard and the W3C baggage standard, the specifications that let traces and metadata cross service and vendor boundaries.

Bastian contributes to several OpenTelemetry projects and is a member of the OpenTelemetry Injector SIG, which works on building mechanisms to attach instrumentation to an application at startup, with zero code changes.
