Ben Blackmore
CTOBen Blackmore is CTO and co-founder of Dash0, an observability platform built on a simple premise: you cannot manage what you cannot measure. He leads Dash0's engineering organization and stays closer to the code and the product roadmap than most CTOs do.
Before Dash0, Ben spent six years at Instana, where he led frontend architecture and grew the UI community from a handful of contributors to over 80; built out its distributed tracing technology and the ingestion systems, APIs, and authentication underneath it; and led the real user monitoring (RUM) product. He studied at Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Venlo, the Netherlands, where he still works as an external expert.
His focus today is bringing that same discipline to AI: helping organizations see where AI is working, what it costs, and how to carry what works from their best people to everyone. He is also pushing production insight back into the AI coding flow, earlier in the software development lifecycle, so issues show up while the code is still being written instead of after release. This year, he is integrating two acquisitions, Lumigo and Polar Signals, into one Dash0 platform.
