Akamai’s globally distributed edge platform offers deep observability into traffic and performance. With DataStream 2, you can stream real-time logs from your Akamai properties to destinations like Dash0 for storage, analysis, and alerting.

Setup

Overview

Akamai supports with DataStream 2 performance and security data for your properties on the global Akamai edge platform and stream them to Dash0. This guide will describe how to set it up.

Sending Akamai Logs to Dash0

Step One: Create a Stream

  1. Log in to the Akamai Control Center using your User ID and password with DataStream access.
  2. Open the navigation menu (☰), then go to:
    • COMMON SERVICES > DataStream (This will open the DataStream dashboard.)
  3. Click + Create stream to launch the stream creation wizard.
  4. On the Configuration tab, fill in the required fields:
    • Name: A human-readable name for the stream.
    • Group: Select the relevant account control group.
    • Contract ID: Choose the appropriate contract identifier.
  5. Under Include properties:
    • Select up to 100 properties to collect logs for.

Step Two: Configure the Destination

  1. In the Destination section
    • select Custom HTTPS.
  2. Fill out the required fields:
    • Name: Dash0
    • Endpoint URL: {{endpoint_json_logs}}
  3. Under Authentication, select Basic and provide the credentials:
    • Username: dash0
    • Password: {{token}}
  4. Keep Send compressed data unchecked
  5. Click Validate & Save

Destination configuration

Enjoy your Akamai logs in Dash0

Logs will now arrive from Akamai within Dash0!
